Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect and How It Is Stored

1.1 Financial Data — Local Only

All financial records you enter — transactions, budgets, credits, savings goals, categories, and notes — are stored exclusively on your device in a local SQLite database (Room). This data is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.

1.2 App Settings — Local Only

Your preferences (currency, language, theme, privacy mode, biometric lock) are stored locally using Android DataStore. They are never shared externally.

1.3 No Account Required

DimFin does not require registration, login, or any personal account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.

2. Permissions Used

2.1 Biometric Authentication

DimFin optionally uses your device's biometric sensor (fingerprint, face recognition) for the App Lock feature. Biometric data is processed entirely by the Android operating system and is never accessed or stored by DimFin.

2.2 Location ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Location data is used only to optionally tag a transaction with the place where it was made. Location data is stored locally on your device as part of the transaction record and is never transmitted externally. Granting this permission is optional.

2.3 Microphone RECORD_AUDIO

The microphone is used for voice input to add transactions by speaking. Audio is processed locally using Android's built-in speech recognition (SpeechRecognizer). No audio recordings are stored or transmitted by DimFin.

2.4 Camera

The camera is used to scan receipts via:

• Google ML Kit (on-device OCR) — text recognition is performed entirely on your device; no images are uploaded.
• Google Code Scanner (QR codes) — scanned QR content is processed on-device.

No photos are stored by DimFin.

2.5 Notifications POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Notifications are used only for reminders about credit/loan payment due dates that you have configured. These are scheduled locally via WorkManager and do not involve any external service.

3. Third-Party Services

DimFin uses the following on-device libraries. No data is transmitted to external servers.

4. Data Export and Backup

DimFin provides a manual data export feature that creates a JSON file containing your financial records. This file is saved to a location of your choice on your device. You control this file completely. DimFin does not perform any automatic backup to external services.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data with any third party. Since all data is stored locally, there is no data to share.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

All your data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all data at any time by:

• Clearing app data: Android Settings → Apps → DimFin → Storage → Clear Data
• Uninstalling the App

There is no remote data to delete because no data is ever transmitted to our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

DimFin is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. GDPR — Rights of EU Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right to access — All data is stored on your device; you have full access at all times within the App.
• Right to erasure — Delete your data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.
• Right to portability — Export your data at any time using the built-in JSON export feature.
• Right to object — Since we process no personal data, there is nothing to object to.

As DimFin does not collect or process personal data on any server, we act solely as a tool on your device and do not function as a Data Controller in the GDPR sense.

9. Security

All data is stored within Android's standard app sandbox, protected by the operating system. DimFin additionally supports biometric lock to protect access to the App. We do not transmit any data over the network, so there is no risk of data interception.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
